SITE RULES

Please familiarise yourselves with the site rules prior to your stay to help you and others have the best possible experience whilst staying at Oakwell Farm

1) Safety and SEcurity

  • when nobody is on site, the gate to the farm will be locked by a code padlock. This code will be available in the email with additional details on how to find us. We kindly ask that if you leave the farm and nobody is on site, you close and lock the front gate. Should we need to change the code to the lock before or during your stay, we will let you know the new code.

  • please make sure expensive equipment and personal possessions are not left out. A public footpath runs along the length of the farm and whilst we like to assume the best, we advise people to be careful.

  • in the event of a fire, please gather at your nearest fire assembly point. This will be pointed out to your by site staff on your arrival.

  • any safety or security concerns should be brought to the site manager as soon as possible.

2) Your Accommodation

  • please pitch up with consideration for your neighbours. Where markers are present, we ask that your tent/caravan/campervan and car do not extend over these markers, and that you aim to set up as centrally within the marked area as possible. If no markers are present or are not visible, please double check with the site manager.

  • ensure all pegs are removed when packing down. Our campsite is used as livestock grazing outside of camping season, and plastic and metal pegs can become a hazard to our animals and farm vehicles.

  • be considerate of your neighbours, including other campers, our livestock, wildlife, and the local community. We ask that in particular noise is kept to a minimum between 11pm and 7am.

  • smoking or vaping is not permitted in the main camping area. If necessary, please ensure you are away from tents/caravans/campervans, groups of people, flammable materials, and animals. Disposal of cigarette butts and vaping equipment is the responsibility of the camper. This rule is subject to change during times of increased fire risk.

  • use of candles, tealights, Chinese lanterns or other open flames is not permitted.

  • BBQs and stoves may be used outdoors as long as they are not in direct contact with the floor - bricks can be provided to act as spacers. BBQs and stoves are not to be used inside tents or under cover. Use of BBQs is subject to change during times of increased fire risk.

  • suitable burning materials such as kiln dried or well seasoned wood, charcoal, or briquettes may be burned in BBQs and communal fire pits. No rubbish is to be burned on BBQs or fire pits.

3) Our Facilities

  • we are proud to offer facilities that are environmentally conscious and ask that where possible campers make choices that align with those values. As such, we provide access to eco friendly washing up liquid, shampoo and shower gel in our bathroom and washing up block. Please consider using these during your stay, or where possible, bring your own eco friendly products.

  • our site is currently set up to handle biodegradable/compostable waste and items that can be recycled. It is the camper's responsibility to remove and dispose of rubbish that falls outside of this.

  • please familiarise yourself with how to operate the composting toilet and shower units. If you have any questions, get in touch with site management.

  • there is no chemical toilet disposal on site.
